ScaleUp Roanoke Valley is seeking Botetourt County businesses to participate in its next series of business planning and growth sessions. ScaleUp specializes in assisting small businesses to grow, including in terms of sales and job growth.
“A variety of resources are available for Botetourt County’s businesses to start, grow and thrive and it is our job as economic developers to simply connect our businesses with these resources and programs,” says Ken McFadyen, Botetourt County’s director of economic development.
Funded by the US Small Business Administration, ScaleUp offers free resources to small successful businesses, including expertise in supply chain management and federal government procurement. Overall business planning resources, for all kinds of small businesses, are available during sessions scheduled to begin in mid-October and concluding in December 2016. ScaleUp offers consulting, business management training programs, and networking and resource access.
The Botetourt County Department of Economic Development recently learned of ScaleUp Roanoke Valley and encourages Botetourt small businesses to consider applying to participate in the fall program. Ideally, a group of twelve (12) Botetourt businesses with current annual revenues of $150,000 to -$500,000 are encouraged to apply.
Roanoke Bagel Company, which expanded to Buchanan in July 2015 has participated in ScaleUp. Amelia Goldacker, owner of the Roanoke Bagel Company says that ScaleUp “allowed us to organize our thoughts, organize our plan, and meet other businesses that are in the exact same situation as us. The consultants at ScaleUp did a great job in helping my business to grow.”
